Sanur is located on the south part of Denpasar, Bali. It is a place where you can find Bali’s upscale resort area and even more, is a beach side-town. So here are a few things to do in Sanur:

  1. Bali Kite Festival

Bali Kite Festival is an annual international kite festival held in between July and August in Padang Galak, Sanur Beach as this marks the start of the windy season on this island. It is one of Bali’s unique cultures where you can see hundreds traditional giant kites competitively played by teams from the villages or banjar of Denpasar. The kite size is 4 meters in width and almost 10 meters in length. This festival is also a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu gods to create abundant crops and harvests.

  1. Chasing Sunrise

Sanur is one of the best places to see sunrise in Bali on Sindhu Beach, Sanur Beach or Matahari Terbit Beach Sanur and Segara Ayu Beach. Each morning the locals and tourist would love to come to this place and waiting for the sun comes up. People can also enjoy early breakfast on the beach, jogging, or soaking the sun on the beach.

Warung Nasi Bali Men Weti is one of popular Balinese mixed rice and most sought after dish type in Bali. It is located on Segara Ayu Beach. Men Weti’s fans won’t even mind that they must wait in long queue just to get a portion of Nasi Men Weti. A portion of Nasi Men Weti consist of shredded chicken, Balinese vegetable – urap, fried fish with sambal, egg, chicken skin chips, peanut, and sambal.

  1. Walk along Sanur Beach

Sanur has beachfront walk that stretch for more than four kilometers long. You can walk along the Sanur beach to Mertasari beach or perhaps rent a bicycle. You will past the resorts, wooden fishing boats, elegant old villas and also resorts.

Did you know that Sanur also has its very own scenic swing like in Gili Island? You can spend time with your friends and family here. To enter this island, you only need to pay for parking fee and pay additional entrance fee of IDR 20.000 for adults. This price is already includes welcome drinks and snacks. Few things to do while you are at dream Island will be swimming, playing on the swing, do water sports such as canoe, jet sky, flying fish, spa at the cottage and many more.

  1. Taman Festival

Taman Festival is an abandoned and haunted place in Sanur. This building has been neglected for around 17 years. It was going to be the biggest amusement park in Sanur but after the soft opening in 1997, it closed its doors in 2000 due to economic issues and has been abandoned ever since. It was also heard that there are some crocodiles in this area. The best way to reach the park is by bicycle or motorbike. So will you go to this place with friends?
